Sources suggest that Duke will be looking better then ever…
Yesterdayâs comments made by id Software CEO, Todd Hollenshead, have fired off a mass of speculation regarding the next title to make use of the Doom 3 engine.
Fans may recall that although stopping short of announcing any specific details, Hollenshead claimed "It will be a name that people recognize,â leaving internet forums ablaze as to exactly what franchise will be making use of the revolutionary engine.
Today we heard word suggesting that the long overdue and almost forgotten, Duke Nukem: Forever, could be the title referred to by Hollenshead.
Development began on Duke Nukem Forever back in 1997 with the Quake II engine (previously the team had experimented with Quake I technology); however this was changed to the Unreal Engine at some stage and then everything went bizarrely quiet.
Despite 3D Realms George Broussard assuring us that there would be no more hardware changes, we have today learnt that Duke Nukem Forever could be the title that Hollenshead was previously referring to.
Naturally this must be treated strictly as rumour and speculation at this stage; however weâll be pressing our source for more information and can hopefully bring you more information soon.
