A mysterious trailer accompanying the recent release of Dragon Quest VIII hints at a future Square-Enix title...

The latest title in Square-Enix Dragon Quest series has recently gone on sale to unprecedented success in Japan, shifting over 3 million copies of Dragon Quest VIII during the first 3 days of sale ā“ surpassing the success of Final Fantasy X and likely making it the most successful release in Japan ever.

However those who manage to put the game down for a moment will find a mysterious trailer on the accompanying DVD. Entitled Code Age, the project is currently being led by Yusuke Naora, Art Director Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X and Unlimited SaGa. Itās believed that the title aims to re-invent the cell-shading visual technique, although specific details on format, genre and release are currently unknown.

The ever helpful US Patent and Trademark Office throws up further information, with confirmation that Square-Enix registered Code Age Commanders, Code Age Brawls, Code Age Archives and Code Age earlier in the year.

Weāll have more information soon.
