Take-Two confirm TVG’s earlier suspicions, Duke Nukem: Forever has undergone its third significant engine change…
As TVG suggested last month, it has today been confirmed that Duke Nukem: Forever is indeed the mysterious title starring a âname that people would recogniseâ.
Initial suspicion was set off when id CEO, Todd Hollenshead, previously claimed that a well-known brand would be using the Doom3 engine back at the 9th annual QuakeCon event.
However confirmation today came from Take-Twoâs Q3 Fiscal Report, in which CEO Rich Roedel, claimed that the title still isnât on the radar but that it is now using the Doom3 engine.
This marks the third engine change for 3D Realms, with development on Duke Nukem: Forever originally commencing on the Quake II engine before moving over to the Unreal engine.
