id Software and Activision today laid to rest the rumours surrounding the eagerly awaited release of Doom 3, confirming that development has finished and that the title will be arriving on shop shelves worldwide in the week commencing August 2nd.

Billed as a Sci-Fi/Horror masterpiece, it’s fair to say that the amazing visuals, dramatic storyline and trademark pulse-pounding action are likely to result in the first blockbuster of the year to date.
