A younger, sexier Dante returning in Devil May Cry 3…

The first information on the return of Dante in Devil May Cry 3 and scans lifted from PSW has recently made their way to the web.

In what appears to be an effort to forget about Devil May Cry 2 and assign that to the past, Devil May Cry 3 attempts to rewrite history and is set a number of years before the original Devil May Cry.

Players take control of a younger Dante before he knows the truth about his origin, and his heritage as the son of Sparda.

Dante can now make use of a number of fighting styles throughout the game, including such types as Gunslinger, Swordmaster, Trickster, Royal Guard, Acrobat and many more. Each style has its advantages and disadvantages, whilst opening a huge variety of tricks and abilities for players to master.

Although we canāt confirm anything officially as of yet, due to Capcom holding off releasing specific details until E3, weāre led to believe that the game will see Dante equipped with only his sword to begin with and that his trusty dual pistols make an important appearance later within the game.

Weāre assured that the larger environments from Devil May Cry 2 will be scrapped to make way for more concise locations akin to those featured within Devil May Cry, whilst the game is being powered by an all-new graphics engine to deliver some truly outstanding visual effects and environmental damage.

The game will apparently include over an hour of CG footage, although itās suggested that the majority of this will be based around real-time cut-scenes then pre-rendered CG, whilst acclaimed Director, Ryuhei Kitamua, has been enlisted after his work on Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.

Rumours suggest that a female character will make a playable appearance, whilst the overall difficulty level has been significantly raised from Devil May Cry 2.

Weāll have more information from E3.
