Capcom confirm support for the Xbox 360 with Dead Rising...
Japanese publisher Capcom has confirmed that they are to support Microsoftâs Xbox 360 with their first title, zombie shooter Dead Rising (currently the working title). The game is set to be released at some point during 2006 and follows the story of freelance photo-journalist Frank West who chases a lead, and finds himself fighting through an American shopping mall full of the undead.
Capcom showed a trailer for the game at E3 this year and the company was keen to describe how the game works in the dynamic of a shopping mall, with players able to utilise a whole host of products including vehicles and makeshift weapons. One of the important elements to feature in the game is time, with the zombies becoming stronger and faster during the hours of darkness making it all the more difficult for Frank to survive his encounter with the undead. During the course of the game, players will also come across other survivors of the zombie rampage as they try to piece together the various clues to discover what exactly happened to make the dead rise again.
Announcing the title Kenzo Tsujimoto, President and Chief Executive Officer, Capcom said âIt is my great pleasure to announce Capcomâs support for Xbox 360â¦It is my firm belief that, by utilizing this new hardware, we will be able to further our longtime goal of creating the perfect blend of unique gaming experiences with revolutionary, cutting-edge technology.â
