Dead Rising follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance photojournalist on the hunt for the scoop of a lifetime. In pursuit of a juicy lead, he makes his way to a small suburban town only to find that it has become overrun by zombies. He escapes to the local shopping mall, thinking it will be a bastion of safety yet it turns out to be anything but.

Capcom confirms over half a million sales in its Xbox 360 zombie-fest in two weeks...


Capcom has today announced that Dead Rising, which follows the story of photo-journalist Frank West as he tries to escape from a zombie-filled mall, has sold over 500,000 units in North America in the two weeks since it launched in the territory.

Due for release in Europe on September 8th and Japan on September 28th, it means that the Xbox 360 title has become the fastest selling next-generation title to date - and the fastest selling for a Japanese publisher.

"Response to Dead Rising from the trade, press and consumers has been tremendous," said Charles Bellfield, Vice President, Marketing, Capcom Entertainment. "The success of the game is a result of Capcom's recognition of Xbox 360 system's possibilities and starting development early on in order to deliver such a high-quality game."
