US rumours suggest Frank's return is heading to the West on multiple formats...
Despite marking Capcom's first success in their new Western strategy, the Japanese publisher has sent out nothing but mixed signals surrounding the future of Frank West and Dead Rising 2.
Notching up a million sales soon after its release it seemed as though Dead Rising 2 was an absolute cert, but since then we've had little to go on whilst talk of a sequel to Capcom's other success, Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions, began to take the limelight.
Adding to the confusion, Capcom's Kenji Inafune stated last year that whilst he wanted to develop a sequel it's "still hard to get games for the Western market approved."
TVG speculated at the time that given the success of the original title and Capcom's policy of mixing up the teams, ala Resident Evil, it could be possible that another team would commence work on the sequel while Inafune-san commences work on his unannounced Wii title.
Today it seems as though we will finally be returning to Willamette, and it won't only be Xbox 360 owners according to the latest rumour from EGM. Although there's little beyond what's already known, the article does suggest that a Los Angeles based developer is currently handling the sequel for multiple-platforms supporting Capcom's new strategy - 360, PS3, PC anybody?
