Damon Opted Out Of Bourne Game News

Matt Damon decided not to lend his voice and likeness to the game due to concerns over its violent content...
For those of you wondering why Jason Bourne won't be voiced by Matt Damon in Sierra's upcoming Bourne Conspiracy game, you need look no further than the actor himself, who supposedly expressed concerns over the game's level of violence.
Meelad Sadat, a representative for the game's developer High Moon Studios, explained the situation to MTV's Multiplayer blog. It seems that Damon was in negotiations over the inclusion of his likeness and voice in the game early in its development cycle. However, these broke down after Damon took issue with the amount of violence in the game.
Even though Damon may not be willing to get involved with the project, Robert Ludlum (the writer of the original Bourne books that the films were based on) has collaborated with Sierra and High Moon Studios on the storyline of the game.
So, which Jason Bourne will High Moon Studio's be closer to? Damon's portrayal of the programmed CIA assassin, or the character in Ludlum's original books? Perhaps High Moon Studio will opt for a third way: the archetypal game protagonist (i.e. a shallow transport for the game's plot and gameplay dynamics). Here's hoping they've come up with something a bit more creative.
Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy is due out at the end of June. A demo of the game is scheduled for release over Xbox Live on May 19th, while a PSN demo will follow three days later on May 22nd.
