PSP owners without a PS3 can now access the waves of contant availale at the store...
Following its unveiling at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced further details on the forthcoming launch of the PlayStation Store on PC.
Launched on November 20th, PSP owners without a PS3 can now access the PlayStation Store and its horde of downloadable goodies through a PC at http://store.playstation.com. Simply by hooking up with a USB cable, PSP fans can access exclusive PlayStation Network games such as Beats and Go! Puzzle; download PSP titles such as Go! Sudoku and B-Boy, older PSone titles and the customary range of demos, trailers, and other goodies.
Perhaps the only area of concern is the fact that the process requires installing a Digital Rights Management (DRM) application, something that has been the source of much controversy for Sony in the past. Although it's unlikely Sony will open itself up once again to class action lawsuits that followed the BMG Music Entertainment scandal, it's nevertheless worth noting given the generally negative image attached to the copy protection technology.
