US based reports suggest that the man behind the movie is less than impressed by EA’s adaptation...

For the last few months itās seemed that transitioning The Godfather from movie and book to videogame had been going well. The gameās developer and publisher Electronic Arts had secured the likenesses and voices of the key actors who starred in the film (Al Pacino aside), and the āpre-renderedā trailers managed to ignite interest in the game, which is due to be released this Autumn.

But the path of game development never runs smoothly, and today US site, Gamespot is reporting that the director of the iconic movie, Francis Ford Coppola is less than pleased with EAās attempt. The site reports that Coppola was speaking on US cable show, Sunday Morning Shootout and stated that he had played a preview of the game and that "They use the characters everyone knows, and then for the next hour they shoot and kill each other. I had absolutely nothing to do with the game, and I disapprove."

He is also quoted as saying that, "I knew nothing about it. They never asked me if I thought it was a good idea.ā

Further details of The Godfather: The Game is expected in the coming weeks, weāll have more soon...
