505 Games confirms a 2009 launch for Cooking Mama 2: World Kitchen on Wii...
The first course may have been a hit 'n' miss affair, but that hasn't stopped 505 Games, which has today confirmed that the follow up to Cooking Mama, the aptly named Cooking Mama 2: World Kitchen, will be heading to European Wiis in 2009.
Although the sequel features a visual overhaul and a host of new mini-games to play through, including the interesting concept of catching burgers with Cooking Mama's apron (?), let's just hope that World Kitchen addresses some of the issues of its predecessor.
"Cooking Mama has been a phenomenal success in Europe and we're delighted to be publishing Cooking Mama 2: World Kitchen," said Ian Howe, Managing Director, 505 Games. "The franchise has proved a tremendous hit with the ever-growing Wii market and we fully expect Cooking Mama 2: World Kitchen to build on previous successes."
Cooking Mama 2 has been severely delayed from making an appearance in the UK; 505 first confirmed in August 2007 that the follow up would arrive here during the early part of 2008. Hopefully that's a sign that some of the problems really are being addressed for the European market.
