Blizzard's MMO is released in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau as the WoW bandwagon rolls on...

Blizzard Entertainment has today announced that the MMORPG World of Warcraft has been released in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. The game, which already has over 4.5 million global subscribers, has been implemented with a CD-key authorisation system to prevent malicious practices from taking place Blizzard partner Soft-World and its subsidiary GFI (Game First International) running operations and customer service in the three territories. The launch follows a successful open-beta phase with over 800,000 taking part and peak concurrency rates of around 140,000 players.

"Gamers in these regions have always shown great support for Blizzard games, so it was important for us to launch World of Warcraft there as quickly as possible," said Mike Morhaime, President and Co-Founder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We're now looking forward to seeing all of our newest players online and providing them with an unsurpassed gaming experience."

It's silly to call one MMO is better than another. They are all designed to target different market shares and niches. Thats like going to a women's shoestore and complaining that their are no boots. It is not the stores fault, it is yours.
