First screens and details FROM the latest title in the Command & Conquer series...
Details on the latest title in the Command & Conquer series were released this week. Command & Conquer Generals is set to be a radical departure from previous titles in the series, set 20 years on from the present time the game focuses on a more realistic approach and features three sides; America, China and the terrorist organisation known as the Global Liberation Army. Each side will require a different tactical approach to make the best use of each forceās arsenal.
The game also marks the series first foray into the world of 3D visuals, that allows the smallest details to be rendered such as glass smashing out of windows.
Over 80 new units will feature along with a variety of buildings and upgrades based on todayās technology. This approach leads to a much more realistic game then previous titles, some may say a little too close after the events in recent timesā¦
Specific details are still being kept a closely guarded secret, itās believed that youāll control the General of each side hence the name, though how this will be implemented is still hush-hush.
One thing you can guarantee is that weāll have a lot more on this title in the near future, so all you Command & Conquer fans stay tuned, this may be the title to lift Westwood back to the top of the RTS pileā¦
