The team that brought us Heroes of the Pacific are set to return in early 2007 with a new action flight title...
Codemasters has today confirmed development of Heatseeker for Wii, PlayStation2, and PSP with an expected released period during the first quarter of 2007.
Currently in production at Aussie outfit IR Gurus, which previously brought Heroes of the Pacific to Xbox,PlayStation2, and PC in 2005, Heatseeker will feature a raft of jet fighters including the F-22 Raptor, F-15 Strike Eagle, and the SU-47 Berkut. The arcade title will also introduce 'Impact Cam', dynamic cut-scenes that will follow the path of a missile right to the target. Missions in the game will take place across a number of locations around the globe including Antarctica, the Far East, and the US.
Andrew Wensley, Senior Producer for Heatseeker at Codemasters commented, "If you like fast and furious action, and blowing everything in sight to bits, then Heatseeker is a dream come true. Expect the greatest military aircraft armed to the teeth with the latest hardware, big explosions, great smoke trails, and gung-ho heroics."
Ben Palmer, Executive Producer at IR Gurus said, "The Heroes air combat engine is being advanced and getting armed to the teeth with the latest military hardware. It's set in a realistic now-time world, that's cohesive and believable, but the speed of play will feel like lightening"
Heatseeker represents Codies' first foray into Wii gaming, becoming the latest publisher to confirm support for Nintendo's next-gen console.
