Next-generation cops & robbers currently in development at InXile Entertainment...
Codemasters today confirmed its entry into the action/driving genre (otherwise known as GTA wannabe), with the announcement of Heist for Xbox 360, PlayStation3, and PC.
Set during 1969 in San Francisco, Heist is currently in development at inXile Entertainment and follows a group of renegade criminals as they attempt to rob and steal their way through the city whilst keeping an eye on the big one - the Mint. Fresh out of jail and a member of an illustrious criminal family, Heist casts players as Johnny Sutton who together with his crew and Uncle Sal must pull of heists across the city.
In addition to robbing banks, Heist also finds players knocking of bars, restaurants, strip clubs, armoured cars and more, in order to acquire the tools needed to penetrate increasingly more elaborate heists. After each job players will need to make the getaway, speeding and screeching through the streets of San Francisco with the cops close behind.
"We designed HEI$T so that players feel like a part of the best robberies and car chases from classic movies," states Maxx Kaufman, Creative Director at inXile Entertainment. "Everything from the different types of jobs to pull and the reckless pursuits by the police through the streets of San Francisco, to the sarcastic banter back and forth between the members of the crew gives HEI$T the action and style of the great attitude and rock-driven films of the 60's."
