CoD4 Map Pack Goes Live Today News

The map pack will be available from 2:30pm on Xbox Live today, although PS3 owners will have to wait three weeks...

The latest portion of CoD4 DLC, which features four new maps (Creek, Killhouse, Broadcast, and Chinatown), will be available for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live at 2:30pm this afternoon. However, PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait three more weeks before the DLC goes up on PSN.

"The maps are coming to PS3 - they'll be around three weeks later," Infinity Ward's Jon Shiring told CVG. "It's just the way it worked out. We're working as hard as we can to try to get it out there."

In related news, a competition that is currently being run by Activision to promote the 'Game of the Year' edition of CoD4, lists the following question as part of an entrant's submission form:

"Where would you like to see the next Call of Duty set?" Before giving the following options: "Modern day, Future, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, WWI, or Other?"

This is probably just part of market research in an attempt to gauge fans' opinions on the matter, but it's certainly interesting to see that Activision is open to suggestions. Our vote is with Vietnam.

why not make it the same as cod 4 online just new maps perks and stuff they had the perfect formula why change proper shame that there going to take stuff out like how many smgs was there then and light machines ect

I was glad when they went to modern day combat as where many others its a shame that they have gone back to WW2 if it was up to me id say stick to modern day combat please,but who knows it might be one of the best WW2 games yet...

omg cod is awsome!! all of the episodes have been better than the previous one, but i cant believe the beta isnt out on ps3 :( (p.s PS3 OWNS THE CRAPBOX360 :p)

Well call of duty 6 will be here next year. I would wait to buy COD 5 on sale used about a week after launch, or maybe just rent it for the campaign mode, as the online game play will probably be paltry at best.
