CoD4 Map Pack Goes Live Today News

The map pack will be available from 2:30pm on Xbox Live today, although PS3 owners will have to wait three weeks...


The latest portion of CoD4 DLC, which features four new maps (Creek, Killhouse, Broadcast, and Chinatown), will be available for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live at 2:30pm this afternoon. However, PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait three more weeks before the DLC goes up on PSN.

"The maps are coming to PS3 - they'll be around three weeks later," Infinity Ward's Jon Shiring told CVG. "It's just the way it worked out. We're working as hard as we can to try to get it out there."

In related news, a competition that is currently being run by Activision to promote the 'Game of the Year' edition of CoD4, lists the following question as part of an entrant's submission form:

"Where would you like to see the next Call of Duty set?" Before giving the following options: "Modern day, Future, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, WWI, or Other?"

This is probably just part of market research in an attempt to gauge fans' opinions on the matter, but it's certainly interesting to see that Activision is open to suggestions. Our vote is with Vietnam.

the cod4 map pack is being released way too close to gta4 and metal gear online, this should have been releasded mnths ogo along with alot more than just 4 maps that we the people that have made cod4 so big have to pay for. talk about squeezing out t... [ Read full comment... ]

The 4 maps look awesome and I can't wait the 4 days to download it on ps3. THe only problem will be because every single person in the world will be downloading it at the same time as me. So I will just do it the second that it becomes april 24th.

i've heard that these extra maps are only available for 21 days and then they are removed from xbox.... is this true or is it just a scam to get more people to buy them. ( not that it matters as i'm getting them anyway )

I own an xbox 360 and so do my three other brother in laws watch out for Clan (UNSC) we will be reckond with. And I am having a hard time downloading maps all of the World must be trying to download...

These new maos are gonna take it to a new level. It'll give people the chance to get one over all the gamers who memorise every square foot of the map as the surroundings are gonna be completely different!
