Codemasters confirm that development has been suspended on the next installment in the Club Football series…
Following a mixed response to Codemasters somewhat confusing Club Football series and facing stiff competition in a fiercely competitive genre, MCV UK is today reporting that the UK developer/publisher has suspended development of the series.
In a statement released to the UK trade magazine, Codemasters stated:
âFollowing a review of its portfolio of football games, Codemasters has suspended production of the next version in the Club Football series.
âWhile this decision does affect development personnel working in the company's football studio, Codemasters has strived to keep redundancies to a minimum. 18 people are affected from the company's 412 total, some from the studio along with support personnel, but the majority of the development team are being reallocated across other current projects.
âThe football studio will continue to focus on further developing the LMA series of management games, a market leading franchise on console platforms.â
