Classic PSP Games Revival On PSN News

PSP games that are no longer available in the shops, are to be revived on the PlayStation Store...
SCEA's Senior Product Manager for the PSP, John Koller, has spoken at CES about the future of the PSP and PC based PlayStation Store. Most significantly, he mentions that PSP games which may no longer be stocked in the shops, but still have a significant following in the PSP community, could be re-released on PSN via the PlayStation Store.
Speaking to Kotaku, Koller gave examples of Wipeout and Twisted Metal as games that "retailers aren't interested in carrying at this stage." But also spoke of the consumer demand for such titles, adding that they are "games that we hear a lot of demand from PSP owners...who say 'I want to play this but can't find it at retail anymore."
Koller went on to outline future plans for downloadable content for the PSP on the PlayStation Store, hinting at "bite-size experiences" on the service:
"We have an opportunity to bring bite-size experiences to the system; ten minute, pick up and play content that can be downloaded from the store."
As for the PSP and Sony's dwindling UMD format, Koller suggested that Sony would be looking at restructuring the pricing of UMD movies: "We definitely understand that releasing a 70s era romantic comedy at $29.99 didn't appeal to most of the demographic." However, he also warned that retailers were resisting such price reductions.
Apparently, this week's CES announcement of Blu-ray discs with embedded standard definition PSP movies on them, isn't a worry for Sony and the UMD format according to Koller: "Any way we can help get that multimedia content onto the PSP, we're going to take it."
