More on this gameGearing up for its launch across Asia under the moniker of City of Hero, NCsoft today released extensive details on the extra cast of superheroes that will join the game's signature heroes in their battle against evil in Paragon City.
Enter Foreshadow
Some time ago, a sudden distortion of the mystical realm was felt by magical beings around the world. This profound disturbance set off the delicate balance of power causing a violent rupture in the fabric of the magical universe. Tracing the source to somewhere in Asia, Statesman himself set off to seek the cause of this disruptive energy.
Guided by the Legacy Chain mystics, Statesman tracked the origin of these radiating ley lines to a quiet, unassuming city park. By the light of the full moon, Statesman approached the small park from which the unearthly power emanated. Without warning, an ancient magic lashed Statesman with its luminescent tendrils, capturing him helpless with no Freedom Phalanx to back him up. Lured by an unknown hand, Statesman had unwittingly walked into a trap designed to drain his powerful energy!
Statesman was ensnared, unable to defend himself as an undead army was unleashed upon him. Quickly closing in, the skeletal wraiths seemed sure to destroy their target when suddenly two figures leapt from the shadows. Statesman was not alone in tracing the dark magic. From across Asia several heroes converged upon the very same site!
The gifted martial artist, Foreshadow, repulsed the undead spirits from Statesman's weakened form, shattering them with his focused Chi attacks. Simultaneously, Spark Blade, the master of weaponry, also attacked these vile foes. Using his deadly katana and long pistol to channel lightning onto his enemies, he helped beat back the wave of undead.
Strangers to each other, Foreshadow and Spark Blade found themselves united by a common goal. Fighting valiantly, these heroes realized that Statesman was the true target and sprang to his defense, turning back wave after wave of the undead. Despite their immense power and skill, these two heroes soon found themselves overwhelmed by the never-ending stream of undead bent on their destruction.
But all hope was not lost. Sensing her mentor's distress, Mirror Spirit materialized to join Foreshadow in the battle against this dread enemy. Teleporting to the site, Mirror Spirit unleashed her massive mystic energy in a shockwave that defeated all those surrounding her and her mentor.
Meanwhile, another young woman rushed to the aid of her sworn protector, Spark Blade. Entering the fray against the undead, Rose Star unleashed one of the many gadgets hidden within the personally designed battle suit she wears.
The four heroes struggled to rescue Statesman. Despite the intense counterattack they brought to bear, the legion of undead began to overtake them.
Long lost friends, Mirror Spirit and Rose Star exchanged a look. The two young women quickly realized that their only hope to free Statesman was to work together. With a quick nod of assent, Rose Star willingly allowed Mirror Spirit to tap into her energy, powering a spell designed to free the champion of Paragon City. Draining Rose Star of all her strength, Mirror Spirit sent forth a blast of magical force, releasing Statesman from his bonds.
Missing their unspoken communication, Spark Blade misunderstood Mirror Spirit's intentions and leapt to protect Rose Star from what he believed to be an attack. Seeing Spark Blade move to strike Mirror Spirit, Foreshadow likewise rose to protect his sidekick. As they recklessly rushed to defend their protégées, the recently freed Statesman stepped in to prevent the inevitable clash. Bringing calm to these mighty warriors, the situation was diffused and mutual understanding was established.
From that day forth, a new alliance was forged as Foreshadow, Mirror Spirit, Spark Blade, Rose Star and Statesman became allies in the fight against evil everywhere.
Meet the newest Heroes
Foreshadow
A young hero with a very old soul, Foreshadow is reborn generation after generation, alternating between good and evil. When he is in his villainous incarnation the world trembles. Currently, Foreshadow is a hero, working diligently to atone for the actions of his former evil incarnations, swooping in from the skies to fight evil with his focused Chi blasts and superior martial arts.
Mirror Spirit
Destined to one day become the most powerful mystical force ever known, Mirror Spirit currently focuses her attention on Foreshadow, making certain that a balance is maintained within him and that his powers do not get out of control. Calm and placid, her inner strength is a still pool of unfathomable depth. Her unique talents include the ability to utilize the power of other heroes to produce particularly devastating attacks and to reflect the attacks of others back at them.
Spark Blade
A master of weaponry, he wields his katana and long pistol with deadly skill, channeling bolts of lightening through both weapons. Aided in combat by his super-human reflexes, Spark Blade is uncannily accurate and very difficult to target. He has sworn to protect Rose Star at all costs.
Rose Star
Half Russian and half Japanese, Rose Star is a mischievous but good hearted young heroine, fiercely loyal to her friends and deadly to her enemies. Often turning the tables to save Spark Blade who has vowed to protect her, Rose Star's ability to get into trouble is only exceeded by her incredible strength and durability.

I really don't understand why dark defenders, dark scrappers and not dark dominators, too bad

Personaly I'm a flavor player. I dont care what the primaries and secondaries are but it would be nice if each primary for an AT had a secondary that made sense with it. Stone for Doms, fine but what the heck do you match to it? Also I would have loved to have seen Doms get Illusion control. The idea of trickery and false images just seems more a senaky vilian thing to me.

If a Brute can have Energy Melee, i don't understand why scrappers cannot. i will say though that fire shield with spines will be nasty for PvE, but i prefer PvP. Meh Corrupters getting Storm and Controllers getting Themal is good though

This is just another screw over for villains tbh. I am a pvp'r at heart andtosay. The heroes do get itall. Villains are good atpvp but its a lotharder for villains than it is for heroes. Blasters just own anything and if the new VEAT's are a conter-mneasure against blasters i'll be EXTREMLY happy. But such luck isn't to be had it would seem.
