Issue Seven details released by NCSoft including new zones and costumes; update set for April 2006...
NCSoft has today released details of the forthcoming Issue #7 update for City of Heroes and City of Villains, which is set for release in April 2006. Two new High Power zones for City of Villains: Suited for characters between levels 40 and 50, Grandville is a PVE vertical zone with mutant arachnoids and a set of characters that include the Dark Recluse, whilst new PVP zone Recluse's Victory is for levels 40 and 50 for both City of Heroes and City of Heroes, and follows the events after Recluse's attack on Paragon City.
For City of Villains subscribers a host of new missions and powers will be available in the update with over 300 missions that help develop the experience of characters from level 40 up to level 50, and a set of Mayhem Missions linked to environmental destruction and other super-villain crimes. New Power Sets for villainous archetypes will also be made available in the update with Electric Melee and Electric Armour added for Brutes, Thug pets for Masterminds, and Dark Armour & Dark Melee for Stalkers. Finally a new set of Patron Power Pools will become available for Villains that are specific to the signature villain.
In order to ensure that City of Heroes subscribers don't feel left you, a series of upgrades for both Heroes and Villains including Base Features (Storage Items, Supergroup Banners, Empowerment Stations, and Base Colour Tinting), and new quality of life features such as Global Chat and UI improvements. New art updates for City of Heroes will also become available such as reflective windows, bump and specular mapping, and higher-resolution textures.
NCSoft also confirms that details of new costumes will follow shortly.
