While past Castlevania games have focused on the struggle between Dracula and the Belmont clan, Castlevania: Curse of Darkness introduces players to an entirely new storyline and main character – Hector, one of two Devil Forgemasters, who had once refined his skills under Dracula. Told in true Castlevania style, this action-packed tale of betrayal and revenge takes players on a journey through an expansive world filled with formidable foes and beautifully rendered environments to the ruins of Dracula's castle.

Ahead of Konami’s GamerDay event comes details of a new Castlevania title currently in development for the Playstation2...

We reported last week of Konamiās āmajor announcementā coming on January 27th, however today weāve received details of what form this could take ahead of the party.

Featured within the pages of Play magazine is the First Look at a new Castlevania title currently in development at Konami, under the watchful guise of Koji Igarashi and his team.

Entitled Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, the game appears to strike a familiar balance with last yearās Lament of Innocence, although fans of the time-honoured 2D origins will be pleased to note that Igarashi-san aims to perfect the series in 3D with this iteration and place stronger emphasis on the RPG elements.

The game introduces an entirely new concept to the venerable series in the shape of Innocent Devils and Devil Forgery, little side-kicks if you will that assist the player throughout the game, which grow and evolve based upon the monsters that you kill throughout the adventure.

We expect further details to become available very shortly; however Castlevania fanatics may want to check out the latest issue of Play for a First Look at the title alongside an in-depth interview with Igarashi-san and other team members.
