Konami announces that the next title in the classic franchise is set for release in Autumn 2005…

Just a few days ago, we reported on the news that Konami will be releasing a new title in the Castlevania series called âCurse of Darkness.â Set three years after Draculaâs defeat, Curse of Darkness follows the story of Hector, one of the two Devil Forgemasters mentored by the fanged-one himself, who flees from his previous existence in order to build a more normal life away from the forces of darkness; but with Dracula now defeated, a curse has swept through the continent. Issac, the second Devil Forgemaster, blames Hector for the death of his mentor and as an act of revenge, he gets Hectorâs wife implicated in a witches trial so Hector must now travel back to Vallachia to seek his own revenge.

In Curse of Darkness, players will be able to create strong allies in the game called the âInnocent Devilsâ by using Hectorâs Devil Forging skills. These creatures will aid Hector through his journey with more than 30 of the Devils able to evolve skills so they can do everything from moving heavy doors to helping Hector fly. Not only that but as in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Hectorâs strength will increase as players progress through the game.

Confirming the details, Hans-Joachim Amann, Head of Product Management of Konami of Europe said, "Castlevania: Curse of Darkness takes the series in a fresh new direction â“ complete with new heroes and villainsâ¦The conflict between Hector and Isaac will allow players to explore Dracula's inner sanctum from a different perspective and provide fans of the Castlevania series plenty of new gameplay experiences to enjoy."

The game is set for release sometime in Autumn 2005, and weâll have more news soonâ¦
