After the disappointment of Resident Evil: Outbreak, Capcom confirm that both its sequel and Monster Hunter will feature online support in Europe...
With the disappointing release of the offline enabled Resident Evil: Outbreak across Europe, Capcom today confirmed that both Resident Evil: Outbreak File 2 and Monster Hunter will feature online play when released across Europe in 2005.
âIt has been a long and involved process but it is a testament to the hard work of all those involved that we are now able to deliver both these titles with full online content. Since their launches in Japan Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 and Monster Hunter have proved incredibly successful with thousands of players regularly competing in online sessions and we hope to emulate this success in PAL territories,â commented David Miller, European Marketing Director, Capcom.
Resident Evil: Outbreak File 2 continues the experience laid down by its predecessor, with players assuming the role of ordinary citizens from Racoon City, fighting against the odds to stay alive. Teamwork is essential if all four members are to survive, with players able to share vital items, provide covering fire and even a shoulder for an injured colleague to rest upon. New to the series is the ability to shoot whilst walking (a first for the Resident Evil series), along with multiple routes through the scenarios, character specific moves and additional weapons.
Scheduled for release in Summer 2005, weâll have a closer look at Resident Evil: Outbreak File 2 soon.
Monster Hunter takes players to a fantasy world in which extraordinary creatures roam the earth; they key to survival is simple â“ hunt or be hunted! Players have to form a party of four, choosing from a wide range of objectives, such as defeating specific beats, collecting items or defending towns from a monsters ambush.
Weâll have more information on both titles soon.
