Capcom Announce Onimusha 3 News

The latest chapter in the popular series will star Jean Reno; how cool is that - First Screens, Movie + Info...

Capcom recently announced the latest title in the Onimusha series; scheduled for release on the Playstation2 in 2004, Onimusha 3 looks to push the series ahead quite significantly.

Onimusha 3 sees the return of Akechi Samanosuke from the first title; set in the year 2004, the game sees players journey to France where a small town has been transformed into a nightmarish nest of Genma demons.

With the nightmare appears one man, a man who will stand up against the Genma and work alongside you; his name is Jacque Bran. Youāve probably already scanned the pictures and think you know this new character; following on with Onimusha tradition, famous actors have been drawn in to provide the image and voice-work for the in-game characters. This time Jean Reno has been enlisted; movie fans will know him as the star in the brilliant āLeonā and āLa Femme Nikitaā amongst many others.

Onimusha 3 makes use of a dual hero system, which sees players take control of both characters; from what we can gather players take control of Samansuke during the first half and then switch over to Jacque Bran for the latter half. Capcom have assured us that both characters offer a completely different approach to the game, which should bring some much need variety to the series.

It appears that the action levels have been topped up from previous titles in the series, certainly the game looks closer to Devil May Cry then Resident Evil, which makes us very happy indeed.

Weāll have more on Onimusha 3 soon, in the meantime make sure to check out the video footage; we canāt wait to see more of this, Jean Reno in a videogame, what more could you ask for?
