EA confirms DualShock 3 support for the fifth home console instalment of Criterion's crashing-ly good franchise...


Electronic Arts has today confirmed that Burnout Paradise will offer PlayStation 3 owners full support of the newly announced DualShock 3 controller, allowing them to feel the bumps and crashes in Criterion Software's upcoming title.

Due for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 during the Winter, Burnout Paradise removes the barriers, allowing gamers to explore the entire city from the start. Following the lead of Atari's Test Drive Unlimited, players will be able to hook up with friends throughout the metropolis of Paradise with the "EasyDrive Friends List", and kick start the next race.

"This is the true beginning of next generation racing. On PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360, we are delivering a game that brings brilliant graphics into HD at 60 frames per second. Burnout Paradise does something that no other Burnout game has ever done - it gives the player full control on how to play the game," said Alex Ward, Creative Director at EA Criterion Studios. "At Criterion, we have a long history of delivering stand-out software on the PlayStation consoles. The entire team is fired up about the opportunity to carry that heritage into the PLAYSTATION 3 generation."

EA has also announced that Burnout Paradise will offer support for PlayStation Eye and Xbox Live Vision, allowing gamers to capture the 'mugshots' of beaten opponents.

now you can unless you own a 360, the cagney update is now online ready for download in the playstation store (360 owners have to wait another 3 weeks cause criterion games are too lazy to sort out the minor bugs on the 360 version)

I love crusing online, but too many d*cks doing takedowns, i just want to cruise with people ok!
And cant wait to do marked man and road rage online, maybe stunt run.

I don't have any older burnout games, but this one is by far the best racing game I've ever played. There is so much to explore it looks awesome there are 75 cars in the game. So much better than Motostorm by many factors of 10. My current favorite ... [ Read full comment... ]

the problem is its now a franchise of EA as EA also wants gta4 and midnight club aswell looks like all the best games will eventually get eaten up by EA.

This game is rubbish, but I suppose that's come across already, from what most have written here.

I'm a casual gamer who loved the Burnout series. I could go in, place a few races, crash more than a few cars, and leave a happy camper. It worked out frustration and stress like nothing else. No longer. This new game is a complete detraction fro... [ Read full comment... ]
