Bungie Confirms "Three Distinct Projects" In Development News

Following the confusion of E3, Bungie has stated that it's working on three different projects...
Famed Halo developer Bungie has revealed on its website that the studio is currently at work on "three distinct projects", while also stating that this year's Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) will not be the setting for any "big announcements".
While the developer will be attending PAX in Seattle at the end of August, it's also warning fans not to expect any "huge reveals" at the event, suggesting that we'll have to wait even longer for word on the Halo project under Bungie's awnings.
"For the record, we have no plans to make any big announcements or huge reveals at PAX this year. While we will have some Halo 3 multiplayer stuff for you to check out, this is not going to be the "big announcement" many of our fans are clamoring for," the developer revealed on its blog. "Rest assured that when the time is right, we will be making announcements and talking about the stuff we're currently working on. At the moment we do have three distinct projects underway within Bungie - some familiar, some not. Some on a closer horizon, some quite far off."
Although Bungie has previously revealed that it's working on two projects (a Halo game and an original IP), this is the first we've heard of a third project at the developer's studios in Kirkland, Washington. Of course, it could just be the Halo 3 multiplayer content that will be on show at PAX, or it could also be the shared Halo project with Peter Jackson's Wingnut Interactive. But maybe, just maybe, it's a new game title altogether - we can but hope.
The events between Microsoft and Bungie at E3 earlier this month have certainly sparked some controversy. Microsoft cancelled a Bungie announcement (almost certainly for the Halo game) at the last minute that was scheduled for its press conference, while recent comments from Bungie's President, Harold Ryan, suggest that he was none too happy about Microsoft's decision.
