Bungie.net start to answer some of the questions made about Halo2 including the waiting times on Matchmaking…
Just days after Halo 2 has hit the high streets of the world, developers Bungie have started to answer some of the many questions that fans and gamers have been asking.
One of the key questions that were asked in the Q&A session was why textures load up as cutscenes are being played. Bungie replied that, âSince they [the cutscenes] use the game-engine, we are loading geometry and textures from all over the game, different levels, scenarios and creatures, as well as dialog and music. We could have made it into video, and streamed it from the disk, but then there would have been loading times.â
Since playing the game on Live! has taken up a lot of our time over the past few days, we can empathise with one question which asks why there are such long loading times when players try to play Matchmaking. Thankfully the solution to the problem may be on its way, as Bungie replied that, âIt really is a consequence of their being so many damn people on Live. This one we think we have figured out and we should be able to fix it soon. We are optimistic the process can be made a LOT faster.â They go on to recommend that for the moment, gamers should be patient, but at least we know that they are trying to solve it.
Bungie are also expanding the Live! content soon, and unlockable maps are also available to find. In the Q&A, they commented that, âWe have not announced a schedule yet, but we will be making new downloadable multiplayer mapsâ¦There will likely never be downloadable Campaign content.â
Over the question of Halo 3, the answer is a bit more of the sort that youâd expect to hear from a politician, with Bungie commenting that, âBungie is in the process of discussing and planning its next projects. No decisions have been announced at this time.â
Itâs good to know that at least gamers can pose these types of questions to the developers, and it seems that Bungie will continue with these Q&A sessions for some time yet. Visit bungie.net for the full Q&A session.
Weâll have more post-Halo 2 updates shortlyâ¦
