Ubisoft's list of third quarter titles for fiscal 2006-07 fails to make a mention of Matt Baker and Operation Market Garden...

Having previously been confirmed for launch during the all-important 2006 'Holiday' season, it seems that gamers waiting eagerly for Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway may have to wait a little bit longer.

In a press statement listing several of the key titles that will be released during the third quarter of the 2006/07 fiscal year (October 1st to December 31st 2006), Ubisoft noted a long list of games including the likes of Red Steel, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, and Rayman Raving Rabbids - but the third instalment in Gearbox Software's World War II shooter was nowhere to be seem. Can it therefore be assumed that it won't be released until 2007???

Despite the real possibility that Matt Baker and Joe 'Red' Hartsock won't be continuing their journey through war-torn France, Ubisoft's president and CEO Yves Guillemot made an upbeat statement:

"Ubisoft has the best portfolio of its history for this holiday season, with a strong mix of new and proven brands. We expect to confirm our leading edge on the next-gen consoles with the release of eight games for the Wii, three on Xbox 360, four on the PSP system and two on the PlayStation 3 system."

Guillemot's confirmation of two PS3 titles (Blazing Angels and Rainbow Six Vegas) and three on Xbox 360 (Rainbow Six Vegas, Slpinter Cell Double Agent and Open Season) seems to be clear confirmation of a delay to Hell's Highway - which perhaps could be explained by the March 2007 launch of PlayStation3 in Europe.

The list of titles identified for the third quarter of the 2006/07 fiscal year are:

  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent

  • Rayman Raving Rabbids

  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas

  • Far Cry Vengeance

  • Brothers In Arms D-Day

  • Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII

  • Prince of Persia Rival Swords

  • Petz

  • Red Steel

  • Dark Messiah Might and Magic

  • GT Pro Series

  • Open Season

  • Star Wars Lethal Alliance

  • Monster 4X4 World Circuit
