Late August release for the long-delayed squad shooter; Sgt. Matt Baker and Sgt. Hartsock ready to tread Hell's Highway...


It's been a long, long time in coming, but it seems that the walk towards Hell's Highway is nearly upon us. Ubisoft has today confirmed that the World War II squad-shooter will be heading to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC across North America from August 26th.

A release date for Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway in the UK and Europe is yet to be confirmed, but let's hope that it'll be upon us the following Friday (August 29th).

Developed by Gearbox Software, which is currently working away on several other shooters including Aliens: Colonial Marines for SEGA and Borderlands for 2K Games, Hell's Highway has had something of a difficult development cycle. Originally pencilled in for launch for the end of 2006, the third part in the Brothers in Arms series has suffered from a series of delays, with several rough dates set throughout 2007 and 2008.

The game, created with Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3, is set around the events of Operation Market Garden, the most ambitious mission of World War II. Taking place between September 17th and September 25th 1944, the operation's aim was to capture strategic positions for the Allies in the hope of ending the war early.

whats this a ww2 game that unlike cod no one is moaning about it, must be some decent gamers out there after all where would we be if ww2 had gone the other way, this is to justify what those brave men and women did back then so i say bring it on.

I've waited so long for this game,i'ts amazing i havn't got withdawl symptoms.No but seriously i'm really looking forward to playing the next installment with sgt matt baker and his boys...
