Nintendo of Europe confirms Dr. Kawashima's debut DS title breaks through 500,000 sales in nine weeks...

Nintendo of Europe has today announced that over 500,000 units of Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training for Nintendo DS have been sold across the European territories in the nine weeks since the game was released on June 9th.

The publisher confirmed that the title, a key part of Nintendo's Touch Generations series, is now selling around 60,000 units in Europe every week.

"We are delighted that Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training has been such a huge success in Europe with thousands of people training their brains with this unique title. We hope that the continued success of this and other Touch! Generations software will help gaming as an industry expand and begin to appeal to entirely new audiences."

Across the globe, Nintendo announced that the title has now sold over 4 million units, including 3 million in Japan where it was first released in summer 2005, and 600,000 copies in North America.

George Harrison, Nintendo of America's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications said, "Brain Age is so easy to pick up and play, regardless of your experience level...You can play it for 10 minutes or an hour and keep yourself feeling sharp. As a baby boomer, it's like a treadmill for my mind."

We'll have more news shortly...
