Blue Dragon is an epic RPG centred on a young boy named Shu and several of his friends. These unlikely heroes possess miraculous strength and magical power to control phantom shadows that mirror the actions of their masters. Shu and company must use their shadows as weapons as they battle the evil Nene and an antiquated human race of people who command a magical power thought to have perished long ago.

Undisclosed wholesale retailers 'unveil' Microsoft's apparent hopes for Blue Dragon in Japan...


Having made less than an impressive impact in Japan since it was released twelve months ago, it seems that Microsoft may be pinning the Xbox 360's aspirations in the territory on a single title (and we don't mean Gears of War).

German-based GameFront is reporting that wholesale retailers in Japan have revealed Microsoft's goal of selling 200,000 copies of Blue Dragon - the Mistwalker/Artoon-developed RPG hits Nippon store on tomorrow (December 7th).

Microsoft hasn't commented on the figures, but if the report from the undisclosed retailers is accurate, then Microsoft certainly has incredibly high hopes for the title, which recently scored 37/40 from Japanese publication, Famitsu.

The game is due for release in the West during 2007.

Blue Dragon is awesome. The combat system is amazing, cinematic and strategic - far better then FFXII. DBZ fans will love the art direction as well.

Im really looking forward to this game and its about time we had a game of this nature on the Xbox 360. Xbox 360 is certainly lacking quality Japanese games....

LMAO! That's expecting WAAAAY too much. That many 360s haven't even been sold in Japan since last year.

gamers have been spoiled by micrsoft in japan, I wonder if Australia and NZ snubbed microsoft, would we get games made specifically fr us, and a heavily discounted console as well to go with it?
