Blizzard President Talks WoW News

WoW forums post a letter from the President of Blizzard to explain the company’s actions over server problems…

After experiencing massive problems with crashing servers, Blizzard President Mike Morhaime has posted a message on to the World of Warcraft forums to explain the current situation in a bid to calm the increasing frustration of WoW gamers.

In the message, Morhaime commented that due to problems with the boat that runs between Menethil Harbor and Auberdine (it was disappearing from time to time, leaving players in the ocean) and the fact that the servers crashed when gamers tried to log back on, 20 realms were taken offline so maintenance could be provided.

Even though the event occurred during peak time hours in the US (the servers were taken offline at 6pm Pacific Standard Time), it was several hours before the problem was solved and the realms were placed back online.

As compensation, Morhaime confirmed that gamers affected by the action will be credited 4 free days, on top of the 3 days given last week when similar problems occurred.

Finishing off the message, Morhaime said that unless it was absolutely necessary, the WoW servers will not be taken offline during peak time ours again and that, âI want to extend my personal and heartfelt apology for the problems that some of you have been experiencing on our servers. We remain committed to delivering the best possible service for you and will continue to work around the clock to ensure that we provide an experience that you and I have to come to expect from Blizzard games.â

you all sound like complete scrubs/noobs please dis the game if u must but dont tell us u quit because u had to spend so much time on it, probley because u sucked at it and couldnt be bothered well then thats why you suck at it scrubs LLOLOLLOL

Either way, it won't be long before we find out if our Mages, Warriors, and Draenei will have to pack for arctic conditions... that sounds so stupid... draenies suck n they r a race not a class

Wow is designed in such a manner that you HAVE to commit immense number of hours into the game in order to actually achieve anythuing. All the items you will get in drops will be 2-5 levels lower. The game is designed in codepency and farming tons of... [ Read full comment... ]

It's silly to call one MMO is better than another. They are all designed to target different market shares and niches. Thats like going to a women's shoestore and complaining that their are no boots. It is not the stores fault, it is yours.
