Latest WoW patch set to feature a new world event as the MMORPG goes all Ancient Egypt...
With the global number of subscribers to Blizzardâs World of Warcraft recently surpassing the 4.5 million mark, the MMORPG is set to receive a new patch (version 1.9 to be precise) called The Gates Of AhnâQiraj. The new area will feature a 40-man and 20-man raid and is accessed by opening the gigantic gates on the Scarab wall of Silithus â“ which itself can only be opened with the help of everyone on the server (both Horde and Alliance.) This is a once-on-a-server event so once opened means that the event-opening cannot be repeated.
Described as slightly more challenging than Molten Core, the 40-man raid ends with a confrontation against the two emperors of Ahn-Qiraj: Vek'nilash and Vek'lor, whilst the 20-man raid will end with a battle against a nameless ââ¦blue horrendous looking creature.â
Silithid bugs, which populate parts of the Kalindor continent, are found to be slaved by the Qiraji, a group controlled by an unseen power with evil intent, hostile to all over inhabitants of Azeroth though the mystery behind the power is yet to be explained.
We'll have more news on World of Warcraft and its expansion pack The Burning Crusade shortly...
