It's not much of a surprise, but at least fanatics of the series know to leave it off their Christmas lists this year...
Unveiled earlier in the month, fans eagerly awaiting StarCraft II now have a single question on their lips: when will the RTS sequel be released?
It may not come as much of a surprise, but in an interview with MSNBC, Blizzard Entertainment's Vice President of Game Design, Rob Pardo, confirmed that whilst the developer is keeping the release date close to its chest, StarCraft II definitely won't be out before the end of 2007:
The only thing I can give you [that's] concrete is it's not going to be this year. Some people were hoping, because of how advanced the game looks, that we'd have it out by Christmas, but that's definitely not happening.
Production on the long-awaited title began back in 2003 following the release of Warcraft III, but since then Blizzard has seen an exodus of personnel, not least Flagship Studios' Bill Roper, who is currently working on Hellgate: London.
