Speaking to a French newspaper, Bill Gates reveals some insightful details on the Xbox 2...


Speaking to the French national newspaper www.lesechos.fr, Bill Gates revealed a few insightful details regarding the Xbox2.

"The next-generation Xbox will feature digital media capabilities such as video and photo editing in addition to games," claimed Gates; prompting many to further the links between PC and Xbox.

With the exception of Nintendo, this appears to be the future for home consoles; both Microsoft and Sony see their new machines as hosts to control all forms of media and entertainment downloaded to the home, however weāre not quite sure about why we need editing software.

Itās also been suggested Gates could have been talking about the new-look Xbox (rumoured to be announced at E3); this unit is expected to feature extensive support with the Media2Go handheld device recently announced by Microsoft.

Expect more and more Xbox2 information to filter through in the lead-up to E3.

oh yeah just for the record the chip intel are working on is a 16 core chip possibly even going as far as a 32 core either way the next xbox will have all the features of the ps3 and more (though xbox live still wont be free i dont have a problem wit... [ Read full comment... ]

i bought a ps3 and i HAVE not looked back. even if alot of the games don't utilise it's 8 core (just for you 360 fanboys that's 6 core more than your pathetic dual core) processor well but in time they will. i think the 360 is at it's peak and won't ... [ Read full comment... ]
