Stewart, Brooks, Mulgrew, and Bakula join Kirk to voice Trek Captains in Star Trek: Legacy...
Speaking to global news outlet Reuters, William Shatner has confirmed that he'll be lending his voice for Bethesda Softworks' forthcoming Xbox 360/PC title, Star Trek: Legacy.
Shatner, who played Captain James T. Kirk in the Original Series and the first seven feature films, commented that "I couldn't imagine someone else playing Captain Kirk, even in a video game, so I kind of got a little territorial."
In Star Trek: Legacy, players will be able to take the helm of over sixty different craft from the Trek universe, and face a number of enemies including the Borg. Shatner explained he hoped the title would reignite interest in the franchise.
We'll have more news shortly...
[Update] Bethesda has since confirmed that the orignal actors who played the four other captains in the Trek franchise (Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Jane Mulgrew, and Scott Bakula) will also be lending their voices for the game.
Making the announcement, Todd Vaughn, vice president of development, Bethesda Softworks, said "We are absolutely thrilled to have the five actors who portrayed the STAR TREK captains take part in this project...Their participation, especially since it takes place during the series' 40th anniversary, will add to the fun and excitement of the game and emphasizes our commitment to provide fans with the most authentic STAR TREK experience possible."
