Not content with bringing the original to the Xbox Live Marketplace, could the bear and bird duo's second adventure be heading to XBLA as well...


If recent online reports are accurate, then Xbox 360 gamers will be in for an onslaught of Banjo-Kazooie later in 2008, with speculation that the duo's second adventure (the aptly named 'Banjo-Tooie') could also get a release on Xbox Live Arcade alongside the original game.

Microsoft previously confirmed at E3 that an update to the Nintendo 64 original was in development, with an expected release date to coincide with the launch of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. A report on Rare fanatic site, MundoRare, has gone one step further however, suggesting that the sequel is also in production at Scottish studio, 4J.

Other details in the article suggest cross-game functionality between the two XBLA titles and Nuts & Bolts, thanks to the inclusion of the infamous 'Stop n Swop' feature.

Official representatives have issued the standard Microsoft reply about not commenting on rumours or speculation, so it remains to be seen if Banjo-Tooie will make it onto the Marketplace - but if the first is in development, surely it's not impossible to suppose that the follow up will also make an appearance at some point in the future?

no, banjo threeie was that title they were gunna use, they went with nuts and bolts instead. and they dont work with nintendo anymore so it wont be coming out on gamecube or wii

I hope they don't the same to Banjo as they did to that poor drunk lil squirrel Conkers. I honestly feel they ruined that game and I hope they don't do the same to one of my favorite N64 video game series.
