Treasure, a developer that defines the term cult appeal, has had somewhat of a busy day today. Firstly there was the announcement of Ikaruga (a remake of their classic shooter) to come to Xbox Live Arcade, and now Famitsu are reporting that Treasure and ESP are working together on another remake. This time it's for the Nintendo DS but once again it makes use of their pre-existing shooter portfolio.

This DS game is Bangai-O Spirits, which itself comes from the original game on the Dreamcast (and Nintendo 64 in Japan) Bangai-O. Let's hope that Treasure and ESP manage to capture the same magic in this game that we saw in the original over half a decade ago.
