Launch line-up coming soon; original MMORPG in 2 years and 100 titles for Japan...
Speaking to Famitsu Robbie Bach Chief Xbox Officer and Yoshihiro Maruyama General Manager Xbox Japan confirmed that the 360 launch line-up will unveiled shortly, presumably at next weekâs Xâ05 event, although doubts are still arising as to whether Rareâs Perfect Dark Zero will make the cut or during the âlaunch windowâ between November and Christmas.
Intriguingly Back and Maruyama-san confirmed that an original Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing-Game will be released 2-3 years after the Xbox 360 hits the market, but refused to be drawn on specifics although there is some suggestion that Level 5 aborted Xbox title True Fantasy Live Online could still figure.
With only 10% of Xbox owners taking to Xbox Live this generation, Bach explained his expectations for this to rise to 50% with the Xbox 360 citing the free Silver subscription and the increased importance placed on online games by developers and publishers.
Despite the fact itâs yet to be released Maruyama-san expressed a price-cut for the 360 when the console becomes a mass-market product, likely around Spring 2006 weâd say. More importantly for the Japanese market comes confirmation that over 100 titles are currently in development specifically for the territory.
