Acclaim announces that the PS2 version of its ‘mature’ BMX title will no longer be so saucy.
It appears that the growing criticism over BMX XXX has slapped Acclaim firmly in the face, as the publisher announced that the Playstation2 version would be watered down and NOT feature nudity.
Itās slightly baffling that the PS2 version is the only one to receive censorship, and once again highlights the issue in the videogames industry.
TVG Forum members have been very vocal over the issue; rightly claiming that whilst itās ok to brutally kill civilians in GTA3, seeing a nude woman is considered too wrong for the videogame censors.
In an update to this article, it emerged today that the PS2 version will not receive any censorship in Europe. It appears that the issue was brought up by SCEA when the game went for approval, however their European division, SCEE, had no qualms about the content.
