By Jon Wilcox on 02/05/2007 A 20% reduction in the publisher's workforce is announced by parent company Inforgrames Entertainment...Following a lengthy restructuring program that included the sale of numerous internal studios and brands over the last eighteen months, and the resignation of CEO Bruno Bonnell in recent weeks, Atari Group's parent company, Infogrames Entertainment has today announced that it's to reduce the workforce by a further 20%.
The figure includes a reduction in the company's administrative workforce by 26%, which Infogrames acknowledges will increase its restructuring charges from $800,000 (£401,000) to $1.1 million (£552,000).
The publisher announced earlier in the year a dramatic reduction in net losses during the first nine months of the fiscal year, from $62.8 million (£32.2 million) to $7.5 million (£3.9 million).
