Atari: No Delay to Alone In The Dark News

Reports that a new delay has hit the Eden Games survival-horror are denied by a UK spokesperson for the publisher...


Originally scheduled for release during the tail-end of 2007 before getting pushed to an Easter launch, reports today suggested that Atari had again delayed Alone in the Dark, this time to September.

In a short statement to TVG this evening however, an Atari UK spokesperson denied the reports, and dismissed them as 'rumours'. Test Drive: Unlimited developers Eden Games are currently helming the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of the game, which was first confirmed back at X05 in 2005.

The game, which will also be heading to PlayStation 2 and Wii courtesy of ObsCure developers Hydravision, sees Edward Carnaby uncover pure evil from within the boundaries of New York City's Central Park.

The tech demo stuff is very, very cool - lets just hope there is substance in the gameplay!

It is looking rather tasty, I think the delay is a good thing - Eden Studios need as long as they want to properly realise the true potential of Alone in the Dark's resurrection.

Yeah, I would like to actually get to play this game. It looks awesome, but there are ton's of games getting published everyday. I've been waiting for this one (along with wheelman from midway) for what seems like forever.
