Atari announce the European release of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm on PlayStation 3 this November...
Having originally been revealed as "Naruto: PS3 Project" at the Tokyo Game Show last year in a teaser trailer, Atari has now announced the official title Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for the PlayStation 3 exclusive, set for a European release this November.
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm is being developed under the auspices of Namco Bandai Games, the long time game licensees of Naruto videogames based on the successful Japanese anime and manga series. However, this PS3 exclusive will be set in a similar style to last year's Naruto: Rise of a Ninja for Xbox 360, developed by Ubisoft Montreal.
As with Rise of a Ninja, Ultimate Ninja Storm will feature a mishmash of traditional fighting gameplay, free roaming exploration, and mission based adventure gaming. Additionally, the Hidden Leaf Village and Forest of Death from the anime series will be lovingly recreated as explorable environments, similarly to Ubisoft Montreal's next-gen title.
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm will include 100 missions for gamers to undertake including races, special deliveries, and battles. However, whether or not these missions will exhibit the same loyalty to the anime series' storylines (as was the case with Rise of a Ninja) is unclear at this point.
The ability to run up walls and across water will also be in the game, as will the usual Jutsu attacks and Awakening forms that will add new traits and abilities to characters. In total, 25 characters from the anime series will feature in Ultimate Ninja Storm, all of which will be available for gamers to take control of in head-to-head multiplayer fights for 2 players.
