Atari has today announced development of Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics for PSP, an RPG adhering to version 3.5 of the D&D ruleset from license owners Wizards of the Coast. The game, which is in development at Kuju Entertainment, sees players take control of a child caught in the middle of a feud between two dragons fighting for 'godhood'. Taking a party of up to six characters through a number of dungeons, the turn-based RPG title will see players form an allegiance towards one of the dragons depending on the dungeons faced and the decisions made through the course of Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics.

Players will also be able to work together co-operatively through the single-player campaign thanks to the Wi-Fi capabilities of the PSP, as well as a Deathmatch mode that sees players take their parties on a head-to-head battle through a number of arenas including Dungeon Bash.

As you'd expect from a Dungeons & Dragons game, players will be able to select a character from the numerous Base Classes available such as the Bard, Warrior, Monk, Paladin, and the Sorcerer. In addition five Prestige classes and two Psionic classes will be available in the game. Further support for the game is also promised by Atari in the form of downloadable maps.
