Amazon Slashes UMD Movie Prices News

E-tailer drops the price of its two featured UMD movies as the battle-lines are drawn...
In a pre-emptive strike, US e-tailer Amazon.com has reduced the price of the two PSP UMD movies in its catalogue. The store has reduced Hellboy from its RRP of $19.95 to $13.97, a dollar less than the DVD version of the film. House of Falling Daggers has also had its price reduced from an RRP of $28.95 to $20.97.
With the PSP only days away from itâs North American launch (but weeks away from a European one â“ weâre not bitter), it seems that Amazon are preparing to hit the ground running and are out to beat itâs competitors.
Whether this is a trend that will continue as the UMD movie catalogue expands on the site is yet to be seen (as too the response by Amazonâs competitors), however it seems that someone in the company has been listening to the grumbles and groans that have reverberated around the web about the âhighâ retail price of the movies â“ long may the price war continue!
Weâll have more news on the PSP shortly...
