Alan Wake is a psychological action thriller, a unique new take in the world of gaming. The game is set in an idyllic all-American small town and its surroundings in the state of Washington. Alan Wake, the game's protagonist, is a bestselling horror writer, who writes a novel about his darkest nightmares. In the game, those nightmares come true. As with Remedy's previous games, story and atmosphere are fundamental elements.

An Alan Wake competition suggests that the enigmatic survival horror game could pop-up at TGS...


Even before E3 gets a chance to clear out of LA, rumours surrounding the line-up for this year's Tokyo Game Show have surfaced. A competition that will whisk its winner off to Finish developer Remedy's HQ, before sizing them up to appear in Alan Wake itself, also hints that we'll see more of the title at TGS.

The winner of the competition (which can be found at MSN Games UK) will be "digitally remastered into Alan Wake's world" from Remedy's studios in Finland, before jetting off to TGS "to be on the scene and on the screen".

It's certainly not confirmation that Alan Wake will be at TGS - in what would be the game's first appearance since X06 - but it's good to know that Alan Wake's heart is still beating. Having originally been revealed at E3 '05, the game has been under a media blackout for most of the three years since.

The graphics were amazing three years ago, but three generations of GPU's have come and gone since then. Stalker had amazing graphics too, but they took so long to releast it, that they were just OK, nothing special.

the longer Remedy go without giving us new info on it, the more and more interest is going to be lost on this title. Max Payne wasn't even that good. It was repetitive, with cliched dialogue. Show off some new screens or a gameplay vid, damn it.

You better wait for Alone in the Dark on PS3 - Atari still hasn't nailed a release date down for that version, unlike all the others schedueld for June.

Also no chance of Alan Wake on PS3 - it's a Microsoft Game Studios title!
