Age of Empires III will offer gamers the next level of realism, with advanced battle physics and unparalleled visual detail. The new game picks up where Age of Empires II: Age of Kings left off, placing gamers in the position of a European power determined to explore, colonize and conquer the New World. This time period features stunning scenes, from towering European cathedrals to courageous tribes of Native Americans, and spectacular combat with Industrial Age units like rifled infantry, cavalry and tall ships bristling with cannons.

After teasing us for the last month, Ensemble finally announce that the much rumoured triquel is in production…

For the last few weeks, we have followed some of the updates that Ensemble Studios have been making to its website eagerly awaiting the confirmation of AoE3. Weâve been walked through history, from the Unification of Sumeria to the modern day, and now the developer has announced that Age of Empires III is coming.

The game is set straight after the events of the previous release and sees players on the verge of colonising the New World. The title will include a range of features that fans of the franchise will positively drool over including Home Cities, new civilisations, and a single-player campaign that will last for three generations; this is in addition to the stunning new visuals that the developers have created for this much anticipated release, and if you donât believe us, check out the screenshots below.

At the moment, there isnât a precise release date for the title other than the second half of 2005. Weâll have more news on AoE3 shortlyâ¦
