Web sites for Mature rated titles require age verification on all Activision titles...
Arnold Schwarzenegger may have been less then saintly in the roles heās taken throughout his movie career, however his recent moralistic stance on the videogames industry looks to shake up a few of the US publishers.
For the last couple of months hosting trailers for Activisionās Mature rated titles has required that they be put behind an Age-Gate, restricting access to those under the age of 17. Today the US publisher took another step with the appearance of Credit Card verification on all official websites geared towards such games.
Such examples include Doom 3 and Quake IV; naturally no charge is applied to the card, however it gives an indication of the lengths to which the issue is being taken, putting it firmly in the realms of slightly more notorious forms of Internet entertainment.
